  • Form
    a body-less river of light
  • Pronouns
    they/he
  • Story

A godling named Fys in their vast loneliness flew through the universe looking for company. They came to know of Ivei (time), Viis (chaos), and Heis (order), who all advised Fys to seek inside themselves for completion.

Taking the advice literally, Fys ripped their soul from their body, the vessel becoming a new entity named Mylic. The effort of separating took a toll on Fys, and they fell into a deep slumber on the planet of Orrison. Fys' spirit became a river of energy, the magic that imbues the planet called Fysa. All life was born out of Fys' spirit.

Fys' true form is said to look exactly like Mylic, but pure white. Also, the continents are said to have taken the rough shape of a beast under Fys' influence, and each region is named according to the body parts.

  • Story

Mylic was created from the empty husk of Fys' body, becoming sentient as Fys fell into slumber. Mylic protects Fys, as they love Fys with every ounce of their being. Still, this love is not always benevolent.

Mylic oversees the creatures who borrow Fys' life force, judging who must retake reincarnation or who is allowed to rejoin the river of life when they die. They are an antagonistic force who wanders the world in various forms, testing the spiritual strength of all.

The moon is named after Mylic, as it circles the planet with devotion.

Ilya

The Reflection

  • Form
a mottled snake with a feathered tail
  • Pronouns
    she
  • Story

Over thousands of years, the dance between Fys and Mylic was said to have formed the continent referred to as The Egg, a polar ice cap south of the main land mass.

Ilya slithered forth from this egg, joining her mother up in the sky as the smaller moon-- but unlike Mylic, she was unhappy without a creation of life her own. She saw the arriving humans and adopted them as hers, helping them to settle on Orrison, changing their anatomy to be able to survive in the magic-heavy atmosphere.

Ilya is much more cunning and wicked in her temptations of people's spirit, desiring nothing but to reveal the truth of people's nature. Embrace it, and she is overwhelming with her love. They say the continued changes in human physiology is her influence.

  • Pronouns

  • Story

They are ultimately an observer, not interfering with others' affairs, but they are willing to give advice to those who seek them out and make an attempt at entertaining them. They give out their light and warmth, asking nothing in return.

Ivei is associated with wisdom, self-sacrifice, and ruler-ship. Multi-eyed fish are Ivei's servants, as they are drawn to the light unerringly, and people eat big meals of fish when they seek inspiration.

  • Form

  • Pronouns

  • Story

Viis is the beast of chaos. Some say that it is feral and crude-minded, but the followers of Heis often defame Viis.

Viis is an entity of freedom, of potential, and of new beginnings. There is a peace in co-existance with the wider world, and that space is where Viis exists. Wrongfully persecuted and only seeking freedom, many Ptheran associate with Viis.

Viis is a patron of fleeting performance art- the emotion and expression of dancing, acting, and singing which cannot be captured on paper.

It is known to be appeased by insane bets, and loves games of chance. It has been known to grant ludicrous gifts to those who play with it and stake their life.

It cannot stand being trapped, and though it loves Heis, it cannot stay with them.

They are the patron of the written word and maths, and are said to enjoy creating new names for things in their spare time. Immanu associate strongly with Heis, who collects information and sets boundaries.

They enjoy games of strategy, and have been said to possess and inspire great rulers and philosophers across the ages. They enjoy civilization, and their greatest achievement was the establishment of High Cities.

Despite their obsession with order, Heis is said to still love Viis. The two insult and attack each other as much as they embrace one another.

People who are destined to become figures of great influence can often hear her song, and the words she whispers can lead them towards their fate. Listen too closely to her song however, and she can drive you towards insanity.

They say that Aria exists in the realm of dreams, and should she find her way to reality, all as it is known will cease to be. Her songs are louder in dreams.

Her loneliness and her unused voice festered deep inside of her. One day she awoke to find that it had left her altogether. But with her voice gone, she could join other life and live peacefully. Kheir became the very first rrex, a divine being who abandoned her immortality.

  • Pronouns
    she
  • Story

Ynoch was said to be a tolka, as tolka roamed the planet far before many of the other sentients of Orrison. She was wise and studious, clever and personable, and was one of the greatest storytellers of her generation. She lived for quite a time-- her tales charmed generations of children, and her advice was sought by many leaders. Her passing was the loss of a great personality.

When tolka die, trees are cultivated on the spot of their grave. These trees grow into towering giants, as the powerful murk magic of the tolka's decaying body feeds the plants.

Ynoch grew into the an entire forest, the trees surrounding her being shoots that all sprang up from her root system. It is said that her intelligence still thrums through her tree, and those who commune with it over a night spent in the hollows between her main trunk's roots can feel her wisdom reaching through. This tree bears large fruits, and Migari, the very first chimia, was born from the first of this fruit. It was said that Migari was the manifestation of all of her children's stories come to life.

The Trickster

  • Domain
    parables, fables, and allegories
  • Form
a radiant chimia with white and gold fur
  • Pronouns
    he
  • Story

Migari is the patron deity of the chimia. There exist many trickster tales of Migari's deeds and adventures.

Before Migari, chimia were dumb animals living in the darkness. Migari brought to their species light and knowledge, and began the very first troupe.

Although Migari was a trickster, he was the one to establish the rules of hospitality that some chimia (called proudly the Children of Migari) still follow today. Many times, they would test others based on these rules, which set the boundary for many of Migari's morals:

    • When a traveler is in need, provide food, water, and shelter
    • If a traveler is lost, provide direction or protection
    • If a traveler is in danger of no fault of their own, shelter and hide them
    • If you have been given protection, you owe a favor. This favor can be repaid in action, money, food, or some other gift. The value of the gift doesn't matter-- only the intent. Songs, poems, and stories count as gifts.

(Note: Travelers who are not in need, lost, or danger are fair play for harmless chimian pranks... Chimia will also play harsher pranks on those who break the 4th tenant of repayment).

  • Story

The very first sentient construct, Lu'to was an artificial creature of magic created by humans using the remains of the other three species-- he was created with an Rrex's skull, a Tolka's bones, and a Chimia's heart. He was a being with a strong link with nature, having multiple Fysa (magics) at his core. With the sheer amount of energy stored within Lu'to, his body grew to enormous proportions.

He easily outlived his human masters and grew lonely, and created the first Luto to keep him company. With time, Lu'to grew too large and too mournful at the deaths of plants and animals around him-- he entered a deep sleep, and now forms the largest mountain on the continent.

The world's largest Luto graveyard exists on his back, in the world's largest and most varied garden.

The Corvigere

  • Domain

  • Form
black & teal and orange & white corvigere
  • Pronouns
    she (archivist) / he (undertaker)
  • Story

In a previous age, there were numerous corvigere, each with a clan of leyr, and each with their own domain. They would all structure unique societies centered on their domains. Now however, there are only two corvigere left. Both are preservationists.

The Archivist stores knowledge in her library (called Lireah), preserving the past with her attendants. To be a librarian is a high honor- they not only preserve information for future generations, but teach and raise leyr children.

The Undertaker maintains his burial grounds (called Terralai). Ashes are scattered to the winds and bones rest in Terralai-- a creature's memories are said to be read in the lines of their bones. The Undertaker also adopts unwanted children, regardless of species, and raises them to be Custodians of Terralai. He has a soft spot for children, and under his protection the pariahs are safe.
