The strongest Aria Storms happen at the beginning of May-- however this season has passed in an almost unnerving calm...
June 4 - July 10th
A storm swells within the spire, trapped until it reaches a breaking point. As the fury of its elements are unleashed, a force echoes through the collective dreamscape, alarming all.
June 15th - July 6th
Aria's song seems to have had different meanings for all those it reached, however its warning is clear-- adapt or perish.
July 8th - July 10th
The power unleashed seems to awaken a god or... few? Fys must be confronted, but help comes from many unexpected places.
Storm season passes without incident- instead of the harsh torrent of the aria storm and the following clarity of weather, the world is plagued by a persistent and annoying humidity and drizzle. The change causes unease, which only grew as time passed.
The weather does not deter work in Kinstead. Aelius erects a barrier around the lesser spire, and rumours spread that whatever work is ongoing within its limits are what are causing the lack of storms. Many wonder if he's 'solved it'- if his goal was taming the forces of nature and fixing the problems his ancestors caused with the Senescence.
Through this calm, those in Immitheus are able to take the opportunity to fortify their city, and they even are able to help repair the teleport in Ichorrai by referencing the technology they uncovered. Life even returns to a resemblance of normalcy in Ichorrai and Ynochrin.
Then the spire breaks.
A great force rips through the spire itself, causing the entire world to shudder. Quakes plague the earth, exposing new ruins and burying old ones. The crystal spire itself cracks and even shatters, its coloration warping and darknening in jagged splotches and veins through the normally blue crystal, and the sound of it is like superheated glass exploding. From every crack and break spews a miasma, not unlike the storms that it normally produces, but much heavier, much thicker, and absolutely unceasing. The miasma covers the world in a matter of days, darkening the skies.
At the same time, everyone in the world experiences a dream simultaneously. It begins as a whistling scream echoing the sounds of the spire's destruction, and plunges each individual into their own personal vision:
You stand in a vast cavern where a great beast sleeps. The cavern is so large, you cannot see its dark edges, and the darkness is so heavy that your eyes hallucinate stars as pinpricks in the blackness. The breath of the creature before you is laborous and ragged, and you can smell the sickness and pain rolling off of its body even from a distance. Someone is holding your hand, and though you cannot see them in the dark, you know who it is-- a loved one, a family member, a stranger... the figure varies from dreamer to dreamer. They say that it has been a very long time since they've seen you, even if you had only seen them just yesterday in the waking world. Then they apologize. Fys is waking up, and that cannot come to pass. If Fys' dream ends, then it will reclaim every shard of its soul, one way or another, and every being on Orrison will die.
The Aria's lullaby has been interrupted, her song changed to a scream, but now she is free to use her voice to freely guide you- to wield your intelligence, your determination, your strength, or simply your life. Is the beast in front of you Fys? Surely it cannot be-- though it is large, it is too small to be the entire world, you think. You feel it may be someone else, but someone important. As you awaken, you feel both a deep dread and the sense that you are loved- both by Aria's voice, and by whatever awakens beneath your feet.
The lesser spire is visible from Ichorrai, and also is the first settlement hit by the miasma. With Aelius gone, protocol is swiftly broken and those who shelter on the top of the city are allowed within the Sanctum, collared or not. This is proven to be a good call-- the moment the miasma hits the barrier, it hisses and bubbles but ultimately does not penetrate. Those who are consumed by the miasma seem to be in great agony before simply vanishing.
Precious minutes are saved with the teleport, and those in Immitheus are able to find similar defenses mirroring those in Ichorrai within their city. A barrier is erected and the people are safe. Those in Ynochrin seem to continue to be protected by Ynoch's tree, even though the goddess herself was dead. At Kinstead, the initial blast inside of the wall erected around the spire destroyed much of what was built there, however a blue splinter of the spire landed near the outpost itself and seems to be offering some minor counteracting effects... Lastly, Lireah's weather magic conducted by the Kheiraa there seems to also protect it from the miasma.

Aria exerts her influence and those who work alongside her wishes seem bolstered by extra energy and inspiration. In the destruction of her spire, many pieces of the original column of crystal still exist, hovering in place where they broke, but many smaller pieces were sent flying miles away from the force of the blast, landing in perhaps the most convenient of places. The shards which have been discoloured black spew miasma, but those which remain blue seem to repel that miasma...
PROGRESS must be completed to succeed this step of the plot. Mercenaries, merchants, explorers, and others are able to roll to accumulate RESOURCES. Scientists, researchers, scholars, and artisans can roll to convert RESOURCES into PROGRESS.
In the discord server's #event-signups channel, you can make a daily RESOURCE or PROGRESS attempt with one character on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. In performing this action, you roll a 1d20 (one twenty sided die) to measure your success. Before making your roll, you state which character you are using and their intended action. While you can leave it vague, specifying your actions may positively or negatively affect your chances of success depending on its difficulty, your character's specialty, and other flavortext.
Please use the following form to make an attempt:
Character Name: Name
Masterlist Entry: (put the link in carrots to turn off preview)
Action: Either "Gather Resources" or "Develop Progress".
Flavortext: Optional but may affect the result positively or negatively.
Then, you can make a roll with the following command:

It was discovered that those who disappeared in the miasma were actually transformed into enormous monsters controlled by the re-awakened and corrupted godling Fys. The bodies of these people could be found inside the mass of miasma that formed the monsters, and they could be retrieved by destroying their forms. Those who were retrieved were in a deep slumber.
The miasma itself was a result of the spire becoming corrupted. Aelius swallowed a remnant of the god Fys, and attempted to use it to control or remove the spire, a manifestation of Aria. This backfired however, and the spire instead became corrupted by Fys' influence. Portions of it transformed from aria shards to fys shards, and when the two crystals touch it causes explosive force, which shattered much of the spire.
This sent many shards scattering across the world, and the changes also transformed what normally would be aria storms into a fys miasma. The force also awakened the sleeping Fys, their influence causing hallucinations, spectres, and other phenomenon.
Sophia, Vera, Dakota, and Rieka went through one of the fys shards which acted as a portal to Kinstead, the site of the blast, and there they confronted Aelius who asked them to destroy him while he still had control of the artifact inside of himself. They fought a fys-influenced version of him, and retrieved the remnant of Fys, a glass eye.
The moment they ended Aelius, several others who had been in contact with spectres of Fys were pulled into Fys' last dream. Zeffer, Lelune, Rowan, Pumpkin, and Veraiddhel were again asked by Aelius' dying spirit to find Fys and put it back to sleep. They dived deep into the dream, encountering several visions such as what might have been Mylic, before Lelune located Fys' eye and embraced it. Having already bonded with Fys during the course of th event, the daemon's embrace purified the eye of Fys, stopping people from turning into monsters in the miasma and awakening the affected dreamers.
Another group found research in the labs of Immitheus which indicated that scientists once tried to create vessels to summon and trap the gods in. Lastly, a group went to Luto'Eyn through another portal of fys, a corrupted pool beneath Ynochrin. The mountain was being disturbed and controlled by another eye of Fys, hinting that there might be many more yet out there.
